Christmas Eve by yourself thread
*yawn*

Me? I'm going to DU it and maybe play Unreal EXP and get fragged.

Then I'll have a few brewskies and watch some TV with the clicker on ready to avoid any and all to do with the holiday.

I WILL not:

1. Bake Christmas cookies.
2. Make popcorn strings.
3. Do anything with construction paper or glitter.
4. Get or make Xmas phone calls (the phone has been turned off)
5. Answer the door for carolers.
6. Listen for reindeer hoofs on the roof.
7. Shake presents under a tree.
8. Watch It's A Wonderful Life.

Merry Christmas, DUers!

2. Just about the same here except
I'm going to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" tonight. I usually don't get to watch it on Christmas Eve because I usually go to the big family reunion/get together. Most of my relatives are dead though now and the rest have moved away except for a few that remain but don't give a sh*t about me anyway. I'm going to spend the holiday with just my father, brother and dog.

8. Sounds like a plan!
Think I'll crank up the stereo to the ear bleed level and just melt into some music.

6. B. Pilgrim.....I send good wishes to you......if you are saying what's
really happening to you (and not "funning" us) I would say, that those of us who have some dealings with you say just "talk a walk" look at the sky...and know you're NOT alone.....and even though the "temptation" is to by cynical...don't give in...find something..there's still something out there. Find our own.

:-)'s to you Billy....good stuff still there....You're NOT ALONE!

We all gotta "keep on truckin."

But cynicism is as natural to me as breathing. I'll blame Mark Twain on that! :-)

17. I will watch "A Christmas Carol"
Edited on Wed Dec-24-03 10:03 PM by RBHam
A am also alone this eve, my son and ex wife have flown to BC to visit with my ex-in laws. had a inner over at a friends, have come home to relax with a single malt and wait for my yearly ritual of watching "A Christmas Carol" with Alistair Sim.

I am hoping for something, anything, to give me holiday cheer.

there is THIS, though, the European Space Agency's Mars Rovers are due to land on the red planet later tonight.

will we be in for a BIG surprise soon?

22. I love the Jon Stewart line: "Have you spent enough to meke Baby Jesus
happy?"

It's the pits, I spent money on presents for others and my phone was turned off. The cable modem isn't far behind. I have to give back my leased vehicle on the 26th and have no idea what's going to happen after that. Sometimes life gives you lemons and you end up choking on them.

So it goes.

20. I'm sorry.
My manager was in a similar situation. She was supposed to have a big family reunion in jersey on the 24th, she applied for that day off 3 months ago, got accepted, then they told her she had to work the 24th.

Before she left she was like, I'm going to sit at home with my dog and watch christmas movies. I was going to ask if she wanted me and my girlfriend to stop by and give her our regards but I figured that would be weird, given our purely inter-office relationship and our age difference.

Oh well, I wished her the best, as I now wish you.

21. 1994
I spent Christmas Eve in a Waffle House eating greasy eggs, runny grits, and bad iced tea after packing up my things and placing most of them in a storage unit. I've been there and I sincerely feel for anyone who's down this time of year. Hang in there, New Year's Eve is soon!

24. I'll take the hash browns over the grits....
Scattered and smothered. A true Southern delicacy.
