It's called Sam's Town. And it is rediculously good, IMHO. I would even call it a concept album. It reminds me a lot of Springsteen lyrically. Anyone else have any impressions?

1. It's good
Not up to Springsteen lyrically IMO, and sometimes the music seems a bit like karaoke, but generally Sam's Town combines their new wave with the Springsteen/U2 sound for an effective album. His vocals also fit the grand music. I will likely buy the CD.

5. Yep - I ignore music critics

They can be useful for one thing - discovering new music. Otherwise, I think people can most of the time make decisions on their own. If they can't tell anything, they can sometimes get opinions from people they know. Music and professional criticism also don't seem to go together very well. That said, I haven't liked any fairly recent album that got 1 star from Rolling Stone. The Killers got 2 stars, with Rob Sheffield being the reviewer. RS would be better off without Sheffield and Christian Hoard IMO.

3 stars!

rob sheffield i would say, is a microcosm of why rolling stone magazine sucks.

7. I saw that
Meanwhile, a much better pop album by Cheyenne Kimball got 2.5 stars from him. I'd like to just stop reading reviews by certain reviewers altogether, but sometimes the curiosity gets the best of me. :-)

I did stop going to hip online.
