they are Al-Andalus http://www.uen.org/utahlink/tours/tourFames.cgi?tour_id=15688 and while Andalus was conquered by the Moors, the vocal work is decidedly Spanish folk ala flamenco being a full throated delivery so as to say, it is a style of singing on 'the upper end'; so that she is drawing from her ultimate roots on each side especially perhaps in that the Moors never invaded Colombia for so as i am aware ;)

It's not so obvious from the pop stuff now. But I can live with it. A talented artist picking up a paycheck by putting out a pop album now and then seems fair. I just hope she doesn't lose that Spanish-North African-Arabic fusion stuff she was working on before.
