Mom likes Gephardt
Says my guy, Kucinich, is a wimp. :-(

Oh well. At least she's on our side. She has problems with other candidates as well. She says Dean is smug. She doesn't take Sharpton seriously. She didn't like Braun's comments in a debate about taking the men only sign off the white house door (go figure). She's ABB though. She's excited about the process for the first time in her life. She's never voted in the primaries before and will be this time. She didn't even know she had a voice in determining who was the nominee.

And guess what- she voted for Bush last time. Chalk one more up for our side. I'd like to think I had something to do with that. I'm not sure what it is exactly that got her pissed at Bush. I know she was against the war, but that doesn't mesh well with her Dem choice. Whatever it was, I'm glad she decided to join the light side of the force.

She recently told me that her father, who died when she was fifteen, was a hard core Democrat. She said he told her that if you care about money then vote Republican, but if you care about people vote Democrat. I think that sums up the difference nicely.

2. Well, we could argue all day about which side Mr. Gephardt is on
But, if she can go that far this early, that is good news. BTW, if she wants his autograph, it should be far more easy to get once his secret service detail gets reassigned, in oh, late May or so.

3. Sometimes we need to put the bait out there for them to nibble on
My stepfather is the same way about Gephardt, he likes the guy too and would consider voting for him. Pretty good coming from a guy who has voted republican all of his life.

If we can get them to question Bush and find just one of the dem candidates they would considering voting for - that's the nibble. We have 9 months to reel them into our fold.

I'll have my entire family (excluding my rightwing fundie brother and his family) voting democrat in 2004

You know my German grandfather, I think was a more traditional liberal so I would see him supporting Kerry or maybe even DK, his son does :), my dad. Now my other grandfather does support Gep and its cool, I see why.

7. Good for her!
Obviously, I think she's made a good choice in who she's supporting. We'll win this one vote at a time... and obviously, that's one less Bush voter.

8. I'll be honest with you
Although I did and do not like Mr. Gephardt's stance on the war, I appreciate what he does for organized labor, my grandfather is a big fan of him and supporter. Welcome to DU too.
