We had an unexpected addition to our feline family
A woman marshmallow took care of passed away Saturday, she lived a quiet life way back in the country. She had pets both domestic and wild, deer and turkey would come and graze in her yard.
She had eight cats, one dog, and a starling she raised from a chick.
We took one of the cats, Sammy a huge tuxedo wearing tom, he's a pretty mellow fellow, the other cats here are hissing at him, but, he's not paying them any attention, which, is cool, because he makes three times what our largest is.
He's a lover not a fighter, that's clear.
Anyway, Marshmallow's mom took one of the other cats and the bird, the other six a local vet is supposed to pick up today and see to it that they are adopted out.
She was a very good painter as well, a Grandma moses, her son gave us several of her works, I'll take photos and post them later, but here he is our newest cat, Sammy 2.

2. very dapper fellow!
what is it about male tuxedos? They're HUGE! My friend has a tiny female tux, but every male I've seen has been enormous. Here's Ivan, our tux - 20+ lbs of solid muscle (see below). Mostly mellow, but I think he was abused before he got to us and certain things make him bite: whenever we set him down after holding him, he swipes and bites. When we first got him, after we'd put him down on a chair or floor or whatever, he'd hiss and bite/swipe, ears back. Now just bites (halfheartedly, but the behavior is still there). Odd. Poor guy, I hate to think what he might have been subjected to.

Anyway, congrats on the addition to your family! He looks like a sweetie. I'll be interested to see this woman's artwork, too...
