I'm hunting a mouse...wish me luck.
Out of the corner of my eye, I just saw a mouse go back and forth across the kitchen floor. I got a trap out for it...with peanut butter as the bait...wish me luck. :)

2. Good luck.
Are you sure it is not a rat?

Instead of peanut butter, hook a small piece of bacon into the barb of the trap's trigger, and torch it with a match or cigarette lighter for 20 or 30 seconds. They come running almost immediately for the smell of the cooked hog fat and the hooked bacon sets off the trap better than peanut butter.

;)

7. I live in the country...
I can't order pizza, I have to drive 22 miles round trip to get pizza...:) I think this is the same mouse that was giving my friend trouble last week...my bud failed to get the mouse...it would lick the trap clean, and not set it off, and we covered the damn thing well.

4. The peanut butter will get him.
Oooh! I just had to do the same thing at my cabin.

I hate killing things but the mice came in through a hole left by the dryer repairman and they pooped over everything. They can jump! We found mouse poop on the beds, on the fireplace mantle, on the kitchen shelves, everywhere! We caught 4 in one night with peanut butter.

And they were so darn cute. All grey and furry. I am sorry they came into my house.

We mixed up some steel wool shavings with caulk and sealed up every hole, even those a pencil-width in diameter. Solved the problem.

Good luck.

6. I must be really, really sleepy now.
I read that as I'm hunting wabbits. I'm sorry.

Good luck getting the mouse.

If I was nearby and more awake, I'd catch him for you or send my minions to do it. Either way, the mouse would end up with me. My cats catch a mouse and bring it to me, I guess, hoping I'll apply butter, salt and bbq sauce and cook it for them. They don't kill them. They just bring them to me. My cats are all nuts just like their Mommy/me. :)

Nitey night.

8. Good luck. We have cats, so no rodent problems here.
Honestly, I'm amazed there are small animals left within a 1/4 mile of our house at all.

12. A mouse can't hurt you.
And please don't use sticky traps. They don't kill the mice. It's insanely cruel. Imagine if you were stuck to a giant glue pad, ripping your skin off.

13. The super put them in.
I don't want to hurt the mouse,
but I don't know what to do. I'm afraid to put the dog down, because
this past June he ingested rat poison and had to undergo treatment for 9 weeks.
His blood wasn't coagulating properly, and I was afraid I was going to lose him.
He's late on his rabies shot because his blood is still being observed.
Do mice carry rabies?

14. It's rare that they carry rabies.
They have little traps that capture them alive for later release. I know that's hard to do in the city though. There's supersonic things that are supposed to repel rodents, too. Honestly, solution is better than a glue trap, even a traditional trap.

We briefly had them at a place where I worked, before we switched to the trap-release kind. It's really sad finding them very much alive and stuck to the glue.

16. Well, I'm not going to sleep.
I know that might sound ridiculous, but
I've got a real small place (a studio), so
I know the mouse is here somewhere in the same room as I'm in-but I can't see him.
And I'm feeling very creepy about it.

I don't know where the super put the 2 traps---he told me to stay outside while he
placed them. He said I should leave all my lights on.

Why am I so scared of something so small???

17. I understand.
I turn into a screeching fool with spiders. I can not rationally deal with spiders. Mice don't freak me out, but we never have them inside the house, since we have cats.

Honestly, it's quite absurd though. I've handled an 8' snake before with absolutely no fear, but a TINY spider sends me running from the room.

18. Waterbugs freak me out, as do mice.
But what really get me bad are rats.

Have you ever walked through Washington Square Park at night/

Actually, they're all over the village. Rats and mice.

19. Rats are freaky, but I figure since they're not actually bothering me,
they're okay.

Oddly enough, that doesn't apply to spiders.

Waterbugs are definitely worthy of being freaked out by. I grew up in Union City, NJ and we always had problems with waterbugs and roaches.

20. I actually got used to the rats, but then again, they're not in
my apartment (yet).

I never saw rats until I moved here.

They're all over during the summer months. They run past you in the street at night.

21. Fortunately, everyplace I've lived, there has never been a rodent problem.
Even if adjacent neighbors had them. I seriously think it's because of the cats. They smell the cats and don't even bother to enter.

22. I have to wait till 2007 when the hypo-allergenic cats go on the market.
There's a long waiting list for them.
And, they're $4,000.00.

But, I have been wanting one ever since I heard about them. I love cats and so does my dog,
but I'm severely allergic to them.

In the meantime, I can't get into my bed. I'm sitting in the kitchen
and I have cramps from nerves.

23. Wow. That's expensive for a cat.
Two of our cats are Ragdolls, which are allegedly hypoallergenic (along with the Siberian breed). You might want to try checking out a breeder and seeing if they trigger your allergies. The Ragdoll definitely does have a different texture of fur than the average cat and they don't shed, even though they're a long haired breed.

24. Oh, look at them! They're so beautiful :)).
Thanks, Haruka---I wasn't aware there are any breeds
that are hypo-allergenic, except these cats I've been reading about.

I'de really prefer NOT spending $4,000.00.

I'm going to do some research on the Ragdoll and the Siberian.

My dog absolutely adores cats----he runs into all my neighbor's (cat people) apartments constantly.
I miss not having a cat. If I had a larger place, I'de probably have a zoo!

25. I have a humane mouse trap that works very well
I bought it at a rural feed store, recommended by the owner. I couln't find the exact one on the internet, but this one is the same design.
Once I caught two baby roof (small) rats in it together, and kept them for a little while outside in a cage as pets before I let them go.
