Poll question: Dog/cat question
Do you have a dog, a cat, or both? I have a 10-year-old dog.

1. I have a dog.
She's three. If I had the space, time and money I'd probably have a cat or two.

4. If I had more time to take care of it
And if my dog Reba was young, I'd have two dogs. I don't think Reba would accept another one now. I can't have a cat while living with my parents, as my mom is allergic. But I prefer dogs anyway.

14. I like both cats and dogs.
I grew up with them, and I've had both on my own as an adult.

17. I bet Reba would LOVE a new friend. (preferably a pup or two)
You would be surprised how older dogs enjoy the company of pup's long as Reba remains the Alpha dog she will be happy.

21. She doesn't like most other dogs, though she loves people

And she'll even get jealous when I hug a person she knows. Could that be overcome?

23. A pup would change her mind.
It wouldn't be instant bonding, it would take a little time. I couldn't imagine an older dog that would reject a young pup. I bet it would take under a week as long as you do it right (Give her as much or more attention than the pup).

2. I've got quite a long list...
4 cats, a dog on weekends, 2 bunnies, 3 leopard geckos, 2 bearded dragons, 1 tree frog and several fish tanks.

In the past, I've also had hamsters, a vole, and snakes.

6. Wowee!
How do you have time?

I have three cats, a bunny, and fish, and I find I'm constantly doing some sort of pet-related upkeep (not to mention taking care of the two human children!). It's a lot of work!

13. Lizards & tree frog aren't very time consuming.
And taking care of 4 cats isn't harder than one and two bunnies isn't harder than one.

5. I have a dog
He's two years old.

If my place was larger, I would have one more.

And, if it were even larger, I would have two more.

7. I have a dog
and a part time live in dog it seems. We got a full grown female rott that comes to our house for about a week, and dissappears for a few days and then comes back. I have no idea who she belongs to, but she is one nice, playful old dog...:)

8. I wish I could take every kitty that needs a home.
It's so frustrating ... There is so much need out there. :(

Dogs I have absolutely no desire for, but I'm glad there are dog people out there takin' care of the canines.

15. I feel that way about dogs
I got my dog from the pound, and I couldn't have gotten a better dog. I will go to the pound again if I get another one.

26. Yep...That's the way to do it.
We always get our animals there (or else they show up on our doorstep needing a home). I would NEVER buy an animal from a breeder.

12. So true. In our case, the new doctor was aware of a new therapy that
the first doc. just didn't know about. Liquid viagra compound -- it opens her blood vessels and increases blood flow to the lungs.

Nice dog. Not as friendly or smart as Reba, but he had a wisdom about him. He only lived to be almost 12.

29. I have two dogs.
I love animals, and I had all kinds of pets when I was growing up (dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters, even a baby squirrel that had fallen out of a tree and his mother wouldn't take him back). I like cats, but my pet of choice is a dog. My personality is better suited for dogs, and I love them. :)
