Great For-Everyone Christmas Gifts
There's not much time, but if anyone bought any good Christmas gifts this year that are good for lots of folks, list them here.

Here's mine: Combination Coffee Maker with Bean Grinder. $100 on Sale at Macy's. A gift that keeps on giving.

1. Not much good for me, I'm afraid.
I don't drink coffee, and would have no use for a coffee bean grinder. (Now, a mortar and pestle, on the other hand...)

A one-size-fits-most gift I'd like to give/receive would be a gift certificate from a bookstore! Same with a good music store! Failing that, there's always food!

2. Homemade gifts
I took some of the peace posters from www.anotherposterforpeace.org (which you can download and copy with their permission) and printed them on transfers which I'm putting on tee shirts and 8x11 stickers.

Another great gift is to go to The Heifer Project and buy a friend a goat, heifer, or flock of chicks. Actually, you buy them in their honor, and the animals are given to a family in a third world country.

Still another great gift is to go to www.refugeesinternational.org and buy one of their refugee calendars. Or do what a dear friend did for me-donate in someone's honor. (This was my favorite gift, btw).

5. I got some really great gifts
from my students this year. I think their parents knew I needed some comfort over the holidays! They included:

Bubble bath/bath salts
A teapot
Lots of great herbal and green teas
Gift certificates to the local book store
candles
shortbread, and a deadly box of toffee.

So last night I celebrated my vacation with a bubble bath. Then I lit a candle, made a pot of tea, and settled down with candy and a good book. Heaven.
