3. Just watched the Reginald Owens version last nite...
Not my favorite...he's an okay Scrooge, but the rest of the movie deviated from the book too far (Cratchett fired, left out Scrooge's girlfriend from the past, etc.)

Edited on Fri Dec-19-03 03:30 PM by faygokid
Surprised he wasn't on the poll list, too. He did a good job. Might want to edit the poll to add him. Would still vote for Scott, though. Thank you very much.

6. Alistar Sims
This has always been my favorite although Patrick Stewart and George C. Scott were great in the role also.

Does anyone know when the Allistar Sims version will be on???

9. Alistar Sims' version is my favorite
afraid I can't tell you when it will be on. I grew up in Illinois and we had a family tradition of watching that version every Christmas Eve after we'd returned from the candlelight service. One of the Chicago stations always showed it around 11pm every Christmas Eve.

11. I have to go with Alastair Sim...
I love his transformation the best. The movie itself is very dark, in all respects.

14. George C. Scott was brilliant
Not to take away from Alistair Sim or the others, but I found Scott's performance one of the best ever in any film. He definitely gets my vote, and those who disagree should be boiled in pudding and buried with a sprig of holly through their heart.

Did an old-west version a few years ago called "Ebenezer." Filmed it out near my end of the world. It's kinda fun.
