How pathetic am I?
Edited on Mon Aug-21-06 02:56 PM by LaraMN
I'm going over to the home of one of my husband's co-workers tonight, to clean for him, as he recently had surgery and needs some help. He's a heavy smoker, and I don't even mind going over and sucking up secondhand smoke. Apparently I'm not one of those ex-smokers that hates cigarette smoke. I'm like a junkie; I always try to sit downwind from my friends, when they smoke; it's the closest I can get to having a cig, without actually doing it, and having to feel guilty about it. Pathetic, I know, but at least I'm not smoking anymore, myself!

1. I do the same thing.

I love the smell and I like when people around me smoke. But if I were to try and smoke one I'd be physically ill halfway through.

Edited to clarify that I am an ex-smoker as well.

2. that happened to me on one of my smoking relapses
I always forget how it makes you sick at first if you go too fast. I bought some camels on a crazy night and just started smoking them like old times and pretty soon my head was spinning and I felt sick as hell and had to pull over and lay down in the seat of my car for 2 hours until it passed and I could drive again, lol.

3. I'm the same way.
If anything, doing that helped me quit because during the worst of my nic-fits I could just inhale some delicious second-hand smoke. :D

6. Cold turkey.
It was one of those moments some ex-smokers talk about: I woke up one morning and realized I just didn't want to do it anymore.

8. Mine was the total opposite!
I got a prescription for Zyban, and you have to pick a 'quit-date' about 2 weeks from the date you start the medication. You smoke while you're on the pill, then stop on the quit day and take the pills for 90 more days.

At 30 days I broke out in a terrible reaction to the pills, so the doc took me off them early. It worked though!
