5. Hallucinogenic or gastronomic?
Come on, there's a dual use here to be considered!!!

By the way, did you see one of the more recent Mark Morfort columns in SF Gate on mushrooms? Hilarious!

17. My friend from Alabama said she kicked over cow pies to
get these, I have had them before, they are great

For adults the ingestion of hallucinogenic mushrooms is often intentional and is actively pursued, leading to the widespread cultivation of this species, Psilocybe cubensis or Stropharia cubensis. The experience is generally pleasurable and, compared to LSD, is short-lived, lasting 5 to 6 hours. Flashbacks are rarely reported, though confidants have reported terrifying experiences and in very, very rare cases have experienced the precipitation of mental crises requiring subsequent extensive psychiatric treatment. What will happen after consumption of the mushrooms is strongly dependent upon the setting and the mood as well as psychological make-up of the individual. Psilocybe cubensis is very variable in potency, generally ranging from 0.1% to 0.5% active ingredients by dry weight. Furthermore, what you buy on the street may be mushrooms adulterated with some other drug; consequently the effects and treatment needed are highly variable.

We used to pick morels in the woods when we were kids. They are great just sauteed in butter or in mushroom stew!

23. Can eat them at all three meals!!!
Mushroom omelets for breakfast - Yay!
Pizza with mushrooms for lunch -- Hip hip hooray!
Chicken with pepper cheese & portabello mushrooms for dinner - MMMMMM!

Pizza isn't really a food in and of itself - it's just a convenient carrier for loading up the 'shrooms.

In restaurants near the mushroom capitol of the US, Kennett Square, PA, ordering mushroom soup followed by a mushroom cassarole is seen as normal. The restaurant at Longwood gardens (next town over from Kennett Square) has pickled mushroom salad, mushroom soup, and several entree that are accompanied by mushrooms.
