17. Yep.
When that car hit my bed, I was a week and a half overdue. I went into *false* labor. I think that upset me more than the hole in the side of my house on a rainy day (which I had to cover in plastic myself, since it was the maintainance guy's day off and he wasn't answering the phone.)

19. Just for you, my dear bi-baby!
The locomotive story:

When I was about 10 years old, my parents and my brother and I went down to the railroad yard to watch the trains switching.

One train engineer leaned out of his cab and asked my brother if he'd like to move the train. He said yes, and we three piled in. My dad took the car to where the train would end up.

But once inside the cab, my brother decided he didn't want to, after all!

So the engineer asked me!

And......I said yes, and so I drove the train! Not well, mind you.......

And a good thing it was that I didn't have to steer! I had a hard enough time just running the throttle........

I went...chug chug chug chugchugchug!

Like that........

They were all laughing! But I drove the train!

11. I was left-handed until I was about five, but the nuns made me switch.
Now I write with my right-hand and can do most things with both. However, I can NOT brush my teeth with my right hand. It's like I suddenly get cerebral palsy. I have no idea why because I'm normally quite adept with both and one would think writing would be harder than brushing my teeth. My handwriting is pretty neat, too.

Weird, huh?

I even have a baby tee that says "Catholic School Survivor." Priests don't freak me out though. Most of the priests I know are pretty nice. Hell, it was a Catholic priest that convinced my mom that I wasn't going to hell for being gay. Gotta give him props for that.

My hair was pretty much buzzed and it's about 5" where it wasn't trimmed up. I felt like I was getting a mullet, so I freaked and did an impromptu home haircut. I amazingly did an even job.

I'll see if I can find any of my mom's wedding pictures to scan.

Yep, I'm an IKEA wiz. I've only encountered one issue and that was a piece of furniture that had improperly drilled holes. Some cursing, blood, sweat and tears and I pounded that motherfucker together.

Do you like Econ? I didn't like it at all....I kept wondering why the Economists would never talk about nature/environment, since it has such a large effect on production. Apparently, nature isn't taken into account in most of the charts and forumalae!

36. 10 Random thangs.....
1. I'm a member of the Polar Bear club. And that water was fucking COLD!

2. I accidently stabbed myself in the genitals playing with knives earlier this evening. The damage was minimal but I discovered there are certain places band aids aren't made to fit very well :(

3. I love doing art. Painting, drawing, making paper, collages, sculpting. I suck at all of it, but I don't care.

4. I love books. All my bookcases are full, every flat surface is stacked with books. Now I'm stacking them on the floor and my apartment is turning into a maze.

5. I hate house cleaning and I'm really bad at it.

6. At home I'm a nudist. But the bad thang about it is the lack of pockets. Where do I put my ipod?

7. I'm incredibly sentimental.

8. I have really bad panic attacks.

9. I am incredibly, painfully shy.

10. I write poetry. It's not too bad actually, some of it. I even had a couple of poems published.

11 - 1 extra. I want to be a photographer. I believe I'd be good at it (but the results indicate my belief is misplaced). And I'm incredibly jealous of people who are good photographers.

Answer to bonus question: Of course you should have another Bloody Mary! Excess in everything; moderation is for monks. Now, what's my prize? :)

Khash.

46. They were never in style
my parents bought the nastiest, ugliest frames you've ever seen because they were cheap and what 9 year old isn't going to destroy glasses. Well, they've never broken in any way that couldn't be repaired and since the script never changed I never was allowed to get new ones. I finally got new glasses when I got my first job post-college but they broke a while ago and since I was broke and uninsured...back to the indestructable 3rd grade frames.

The first thing I'm doing after I start work and get benefits is getting new glasses.

53. Hmmmm....
It really is kinda difficult to come up with even 'random' facts...even without considering my desire not to too tightly identify myself inadvertently, it kind of becomes a quest for things pushed to the backroads of my memory...

Start with one, I guess, and see how it goes from there. Here goes.

1. The most recent replica Elvis jumpsuit I made required almost 1900 brass studs, each of which had four to six prongs that I had to crimp individually with needlenose pliers.

2. I've got some kind of wicked-looking shrapnel in my body that just, really, can't possibly be there -- I would have noticed its introduction -- but it's there, nevertheless.

3. I have turned over a live shark, while diving, to induce 'tonic immobility.'

4. I've lived (at least two years) in three countries, so far, and stayed a month or more in three others. I'm a citizen of two countries and able to live and work in a third with no papers required.

5. I have six civilian and scientific dive certifications and six related medical certifications

6. As a graduate student I held an Adjunct Assistant Professor position at a private northeastern university.

7. I have three graduate degrees, from two universities in two countries, and no undergraduate degree.

8. I stepped on Kenny Rogers' foot.

9. I almost died in a diving accident on the 20th anniversary of Elvis' death (in other words, nine years ago today)

10. One of my underwater photographs was used on a postage stamp

11. I've had my big toe pinched ('pinched' does not adequately describe the agony) by a large rhinoceros beetle and have been bitten by a kangaroo

12. Among my writing output has been 16 articles in 'popular' (i.e., non-specialist or 'consumer') magazines

I did it! Not sure how random they are, though.

:D

62. Now mine...
1) First car was a 1973 Plymouth Fury III, metallic green with a green hardtop. :P My great aunt decided she could no longer drive at age 92, so she asked my mother if she could give it to me and my sister to use in college. That was my junior year in college, and I was damn glad to get that car. :) It only had 13,000 miles on it in 1984, 11 years after she bought it. :P She was the proverbial little old lady that only drove it to church on Sundays. Problem was, though, that when she drove, she drove like a race car driver, and there were things wrong with it that the mechanic said would only have happened by driving it at very high speeds and taking corners too fast. That car only got about 8 miles to the gallon. And we coulda driven it to the Love Shack, 'cause it was big as a whale and it's about to set sail....

2) When I was a kid, I stepped on some broken glass, and some of it was never removed because it was too deep. When I was in my late 20s, some of that glass worked its way to the surface, and I had to have it taken out. :yoiks:

3) I sleep in the nude and often let my dogs in or out in the middle of the night with nothing on. I appear at my back door naked very often. There are houses behind us, but the trees obscure any view they might have. :P Oh, and about two months ago, I stepped outside on the deck to round up one of our dogs about 2 AM, and I didn't have anything on. It was dark, and no one was around....

4) I made a 1280 on the SAT in 1980.

5) I have two bachelor's degrees and one master's degree.

6) I have very fair skin that burns and never tans.

7) I listen to tunes in my car with the sound WAY up. Hey---Blitzkrieg Bop HAS to be loud!

8) I've never had braces, and my teeth are almost totally straight. I attribute this to the fact that I used to make my baby teeth loose on purpose when I was a kid so that I'd get money from the tooth fairy.

9) I worked as a lifeguard twice in the summers during and after high school. I was a certified Water Safety Instructor and am an excellent swimmer.

10) I have an acute sense of smell and amaze my family by picking up on scents so quickly. The downside of that is that smells like asphalt make me ill. :(

11) I make the baby Jesus cry a lot.

12) I was a Girl Scout from elementary school (actually a Brownie then) all the way through my senior year in high school.

3) You know your freeper neighbor was secretly watching, right?

7) Music must be played in the car all the way up. It's a rule. The most ridiculous the better. Personally, I enjoy blasting something like "Ride of the Valkyries" with the windows open in my Jeep while driving through heavily populated suburban main streets. It's even more enjoyable than watching the reactions to this little white girl blasting gangsta rap.

7. Sometimes I'm an asshole.

79. It's not hard to make.
I make my own "spaetzel", but you can use cooked noodles or pasta.
Just saute the cabbage in butter or margarine slowly until it's soft. You have to watch it so it doesn't brown. I add a little water every now and then. You can also saute some diced onions if you like them. Then toss in the noodles.

Oh gosh.... now I want to make some for dinner!

Hmmm...

2) I have never been drunk or high. (Though people always assume I'm a huge stoner, which amuses me, haha.)

4) Tonight I hurt my wrist attempting to do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzjTALxxhAw
5) Last week I listened to Alexisonfire's new album on average about 6 times a day. SIX! haha.

7) The watch I wear came out of a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
8) My sneakers are made of organic hemp and vegetarian leather and were made in a sweatshop-free environment.
9) I still have and wear a shirt that I originally owned when I was 12. (A blue plaid button-down short sleeve shirt. It's great.)

That was hard, haha.

1) Perhaps the most random thing about me is that when barefoot (which I prefer) I walk on my toes, not my feet. (Well, the very front of my feet, not the toes themselves)

3) Soon I will prove that both religion and atheism are valid choices. And I mean prove. (I hope)

5) I have exceptional (and I mean exceptional) difficulty with geometry, trigonometry and spatial reasoning (relative to how good I am at similar things)

6) I have never drank alcohol, and I never will. I can't, unfortunately.

7) I rederived my morals from physical principles.

8) When I woke up this morning, I could not move my legs. (Temporarily they are unbelieveably sore from yesterday)

9) I talk to Ava over AOL more than you do!

10) I do capoeira - a brazilian martial art disguised as dance.
