My son's HS football coach got people out of Lebanon when Bush couldn't
What a world we live in. My son just told me his HS football coach was instrumental in getting hundreds of US citizen out of Lebanon when violence erupted there last month. Before the US could get their act together and get them out.

His coach started the Seeds for Peace summer camp with George Mitchell which brought kids from Israel and Palestine together for the summer to swim, canoe and enjoy Maine.

He has since retired from the camp, but he has agreed to coach our football team this year. Man, are we blessed!

Here's a nice article about him on the Boston Globe site.

1. I've heard of the Seeds of Peace camp before.
Tim Wilson sounds like a very remarkable man...the kind of man we could use more of in this day and age!

Your son and the football team are in for a treat, I think. Thanks for posting this!

:hi:

2. I agree!
What a role model for the kids! My son was actually on the interviewing committee for the new HS coach position, and he came home, not knowing Tim's history, and told me had just met the most incredible man.

As an aside, we live in central Maine with one black family. When Tim coached in the 1980's, thousands attended the football games here, a town of 4000. His son is also an assistant coach....so cross your fingers, we may have a winning year here this year! I think we were 2-12 last year.
