My cat seems to be permanently in heat
I dunno what's wrong with her. She used to have a normal in heat/out of heat schedule like the rest of the cats. Now she seems to be in heat pretty much all the time.

Any idea what could be wrong?

1. What breed of cat is she?

How old is she? Has she ever had a litter?

4. If she's not a show cat, then get her fixed.
There are too many kittens out there and it's healthier for her.

5. Agreed
But, I didn't want to seem judgmental. But, have you ever seen the stats on how many offspring just one cat can produce? It's mind blowing!

7. I watched one stray grey cat
turn into forty in one year. All grey, all inbred, weak and hungry, rat like. they began to sneak into our home when we left the door open. one day they ALL disappeared. I'm asuming they were poisoned. very sad...........

18. I'm working on it
The inexpensive spay clinic is booked damn near to Christmas and the vet wants an idiotic amount of money.

thats disgusting, get your cat fixed. Does she have kittens every six months too? disgusting. when it comes to something like this, I'll be judgemental, no apologies.

While I was at the gym just a while ago, I was watching animal cops. One litter of rottweiler pups had to be put down because they were being eaten alive by maggots due to an effing irresponsible pet owner, who had their momma dog chained up. Man o man did that piss me off.

10. I'll second that. Don't need for any more kittens
to end up in shelters and be euthanized.

11. My friend's cat was like that
She went into heat about once a month or so at first. Then she'd be in it every other week, yowling and dragging her crotch across the carpet for several days to a week at a time. My friend got her spayed and that was the end of that.

17. My friend also had a cat like that. Every other week or so she
would start the cycle all over again. I have never seen a cat who made so much noise over being in heat in my life! It was almost unbearable to stay in the house with her. At the time my friend was in a financial situation where she just couldn't afford to have the cat spayed, so I prepaid the local vet for the surgery and gave it to her for Christmas. She said it was one of the most unusual and appreciated Christmas presents that she had ever received. Since then, the cat has become one of the sweetest (and most spoiled) pets you could imagine.

12. Why tempt fate? If you don't want her to have kittens,
please have her neutered. An appointment for neutering would also be a good opportunity to ask a veterinarian why your kitty seems always to be in heat. :hi:

13. Most cats wind up doing that if not spayed
Get her spayed if you're not breeding her!!! That's Number 2 on the responsible pet owners'' list (after getting them shots).

16. What's wrong you ask? Well, not spayed apparently....
There are millions upon millions of homeless cats put to death every year. Most humane societies have spay/neuter programs for people who can't afford them-- check it out.
