Update on my search for a new desk chair:

After getting advice from some DUers last night, I went to IKEA in Paramus, NJ to look for a new desk chair.

I got the "Jokkmokk" chair for $19.99:

Just one chair, no table. I had to assemble it myself.

Unfortunately, what I really wanted was an AMERICAN-made chair. This IKEA chair isn't even made in Sweden; it's made in China. It turns out that "free trade" has simply obliterated American manufacturing to the point where you can't even find a decent American-made chair in the stores anymore.

So, until next year (six months?) when my Chinese-made, Swedish-label chair falls apart (as all my other Chinese/Malaysian/Taiwan-made products have fallen apart)...
