Do you have any "picture disc" or colored-vinyl LPs?
I have a picture disc of "Magazine" by Heart, a red vinyl copy of Jimi Hendrix' "High Live and Dirty," and a white vinyl copy of the Beatles' white album (which I guess qualifies it as a picture disc.)

1. Yep
Quite a few Elvis picture discs (most European) from the '80s and more of his LPs, singles, and EPs on colored vinyl from the late '70s and '80s.

2. Yes.
Can't remember which though.

The picture discs were shite, though. Very bad for the sound quality.

I have many more Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab pressings.

6. I heard that the sound quality was poor on the picture discs, so I have
never played the "Magazine" album, I just bought a regular copy of it. I wonder if it also wears out the picture if you play it.

13. Hey man!
Good memory. I'm getting really close. If you drive by you can see the front torn off of the building, being rebuilt. The upstairs ballroom should be done in a few weeks, the recording studio on the main floor by September, and the bar that will take over the new store front around October.

This has been one hell of a project - can't wait until the construction phase is over. PM me if you want to come check it out some time, I'd be more than happy to show you around.

8. My favorite is a 7" Elvis Costello pic disc of "New Amsterdam"
I think I've still got a pic disc LP of Blondie's Parallel Lines also, which I got when somebody returned it to the record store I worked at in high school.

Lots of colored vinyl, including a blue vinyl Q: Are We Not Men? A: DEVO with a different cover than the standard release.

And a marbled vinyl copy of The Stranglers Black and White.

11. David Bowie's Peter and the Wolf on green vinyl and
a Plasmatics single of Monkey Suit on yellow and red speckled vinyl. My sister had a TON of Springsteen picture disks, one of which was shaped like a guitar. I think she sold them on ebay not long back for a small fortune. :)

12. I think my folks have my picture disc of ELECTRIC by The Cult

17. Sgt Pepper
as a picture disc-- it looks pretty cool. Haven't played it.

Also a Syd Barrett bootleg including his last Floyd recordings, "Vegetable Man" and "Scream Thy Last Scream," plus some of his solo performances on the Beeb. Sound quality definitely sucks, especially the live stuff, so while part of that is the vinyl, part of it is the source.

I used to have that Dave Mason album, Alone Together, on multicolored vinyl.

There's probably others I'm forgetting. I have upwards of 3000 LPs.

18. The soundtrack to "Return of the Living Dead."
A zombie on one side and a naked Linnea Quiqley on the other. Bought it when I was 14, and the B side image came as quite a pleasant shock.

19. Yeah, I have a few
Picture discs, I have a Monkees rarities album, Iron Maiden's "Piece of Mind", the first Boston album... oh yeah, and a Stryper one I came across by chance and had to pick up because I found the picture so amusing!

Colored vinyls I have a few, including Elvis's "Moody Blue" on blue vinyl, the J. Geils Bands's "Bloodshot" on red, Styx's "Crystal Ball" on gold, and the Beatles' "red", "blue", and "white" albums on those colors of vinyl. And maybe a couple others I'm not thinking of...

20. Styx-- Paradise Theater (vinyl)
Band logo laser-etched onto the record. Boy oh boy! Did I think that was some hi-tech, super cool stuff back in '83 (but then I'm the guy who's parents bought a BetaMax Player-- yeah, that was us).
