The ear plays tricks:
When we moved to this small southern coastal town several years ago they had one AM radio station.
We still have just one.
They're on from 6 a.m. till 6 p.m.
Instead of playing the national anthem at sign-off, they play Jimmy Buffett's rendition of "Stars Fell on Alabama", which I find kind of endearing.

Anyway...
I'd listened to WAGP in the car for a couple of years.
It wasn't until I was driving by the station one day that I saw the call letters were WHEP.
