Girl Becomes Diamond After Her Death
LOS ANGELES -- Normally when people talk about what happens to their bodies after they die, there are two options: burial and cremation. NBC4's Ana Garcia took a look at another alternative.

"We were just praying and singing over her. She was totally awake and totally aware. She was asking questions, 'What's happening to my body, Mommy?' and icky stuff. But all of a sudden she looked up, grabbed me and smiled like I have never seen her and said, 'I'm in, I'm in,'" said Susi Rowley.

At that moment, Susi's daughter, 8-year-old Hannah Rowley, died.

"She was a great person, and she was always laughing and always knew what to say," said sister Abby Rowley.

10. That'd be perfect for Syd
make his remains into a diamond then launch it into space.

3. I think it's kind of cool.
I would love for my ashes to be turned into diamonds.

5. Ashes and diamonds, foe and friend
We were all equal in the end.

Bam-o! Two Floyd references!

4. The downside, of course
Is that there's no way to verify that the rock on your finger is the person you sent to the diamond-izer. You might wind up paying, say, $3000 for a stone that's worth maybe $1000, with no way to confirm its origin.

I smell a scam.

6. Well, sure...
and there's no way to confirm the ashes you get at the crematorium is the person that went in.

Could be ashes from the wood stove.

7. I was very fond of that pine log
Nothing can tarnish its memory.

Not you, not Pauly Shore, and not the lady who paid $3000 for a $1000 stone.

SHUT YOUR EYES AND YOU'LL BURST INTO FLAMES!

9. Weird!
I wasn't thinking of her when I wrote that, but when I re-read it after posting, she was the first thing that popped into my head.

"My log is ready to speak."

12. They've got something even cooler
I went to the LifeGems website. They will work from hair.

Hair can be removed from the living in a sophisticated process called a "haircut."

Okay, all you well-heeled leftists who are considering proposing marriage to that special someone but don't want to give her one of those nasty-ass African diamonds that was mined by a seven-year-old kid: get a really short haircut and send the hair (along with a lot of money) to LifeGems. In several weeks you will receive a stone made from the carbon that was in your hair. Have this mounted and present it to her.

13. Remember that original Star Trek episode where
the two security guards were reduced to a brick of their carbon selves?

14. That's a lot of trouble
...I think I'll just save up nail clippings and electric razor dust for a few months, maybe a few jars of urine, put it all in a box, and BAM! The most ROMANTIC GIFT EVER!! :D
