Does a high blood sugar level or a low one cause weight loss?
A fat burning book I know of claims "low", but a book on diabetes claims the opposite. :wtf:

and diabetes would make you lose weight. In some ways, the Atkins Diet does the same thing, without the diabetes part, though.

3. Low blood sugar is dangerous - if the brain does not receive a steady
supply of glucose, serious complications such as coma and seizure can occur.

4. This has confused me a long time
They say a symtom of diabetes is weight LOSS, yet being OVERWEIGHT appears to be a (cause?).

5. It's a dramatic weight loss in a short period of time
not just weight loss itself that's an indicator of diabetes. dg
