22. That Explains A Lot... And Why You're Still Holding A Grudge
Apparently your 'eidetic' memory is both a blessing and a curse for you. But I guess we all have our own cross to bear.

I fail to understand your fascination with me. It a little disconcerting. You really should move on... or get over whatever is bugging you... or just avoid me completely. This is tiresome.

Depends
If they are in my way I confront them with class and logic.

If they are not, or the issue is not important to me, I walk away.

But I try not to be rude. People go away faster if you say "please" when you tell them to piss-off.

8. none of these are good choices
Being anti-social isn't about you; it's about them. Being of the high functioning autistic type -- in other words, tactless -- then I am aware that people often perceive me as being rude or blunt when I am not in the least trying to hurt them. As well as trying to develop some tact, which is not as easy as it may appear, I also try to cut others some slack. Just because you think someone is rude, it doesn't mean they are rude in the sense of trying to be cruel. They could be rude because of their culture; I have a friend from New Jersey whose mannerisms strike me and many as excessively rude, but that's all they are -- mannerisms -- so I overlook them. Many "nerds" or Asperger's people appear "rude" to those who don't understand their train of thought. Again, there is no point in "confronting" these people about their personality deficits; they already know they're different, OK?

If I am certain that someone is being rude to be a jerk or to be cruel...even then it is not usually worth my time to discuss the matter. I just go on my way and enjoy my life.

9. Help to kill them with kindness...
After all, the "poor dears" are usually responsible for their own emotional and/or mental destruction...let's help quicken it along while taking the moral high ground.
That doesn't mean letting them get away with murder, mind you. One can always illuminate their fallicies in a timely, forceful manner without getting smeared by the mud used to do so. It just takes a bit of quick "on your feet" thinking and ability to keep to your points and the definition of the argument even as the subject is changing about you...
One has to be both a master debater and a master baiter when dealing with such people.

10. other
I dreamed that my paternal unit told me I was a bad woman. I grabbed his face in one hand, like you would a child's, and said "NO, DAD, I AM NOT A BAD WOMAN, I AM A GOOD WOMAN. YOU ARE A BAD FATHER."

Okay, off topic, but it kinda fits. Had to get it out of my system.

11. I am an anti-social person
but I'm not necessarily anti-social or rude on purpose. I'm just no damn good at socializing.

I find the whole socialization biz confusing. The other night I was working a bingo. My job is to circulate around selling bingo cards, confirming bingos and handing out winnings. I'm on the run all night. Friday night, the bingo caller wanted to socialize and got real insulted when I insisted that it would be a good idea if I actually did my job. Another reason I'm on the run all night is the other sellers spend their evening socializing with the customers and each other instead of actually selling cards and confirming bingos. If I bring up the issue, I'm the one who gets in trouble.

I just don't get it.

13. Take a leaf from "Miss Manners"
Call them on their offenses in a calm, reasonable, but frosty tone of voice. This can escalate, depending on the level of insult.

"Why do you need to know that?", suffices for people who merely ask intrusive questions, or are fishing for dirt on others.

"I find your choice of words repugnant" works for most that make crude jokes, or put down women and minorities, and add "just kidding".

"How dare you! Have you no shame?" is the response to truly outrageous conduct, like overt sexual harrassment, exploting children, or advocating violence against those who do not share their prejudices. Ann Coulter, are you listening? Nope. I thought not.

Calling the cops or the ACLU is the last resort, but if I needed to do so to restrain a really dangerous sociopath, I wouldn't hesitate.
