I've found that tennis balls have become way to fuzzy. All sorts of debris gets caught in the fuzz. I figure that by shaving my balls and having a smooth surface, no debris can accumulate. Anyone ever tried this? Does it effect the serve at all? Is it a good idea to play with shaven balls on a clay court?

Spaldeens were these pink rubber balls that we used to play stickball with. They were made by Spalding and the new ones had this powder on them.

Using them for tennis would be about the same as using your shaved tennis balls, just a lot cheaper if you can find them, plus there's no shaving mess.
