In honor of my new iBook, post a SCREEN SHOT.
Edited on Sat Jun-24-06 10:02 PM by haruka3_2000
Here's my screenshot:

And in honor of those who met up after the April 29th march, check out what's playing on iTunes right now...

So what does your desktop look like?

Edited because I realized my Adium buddy list was more readable than I expected it to be.

2. My dear haruka3_2000!
Well.....I would post my desktop...

But there are problems, the main one being that I don't know how!

And mine is boring anyhow!

Yours, on the other hand, is gorgeous!

Hope someone else comes along with a beautiful desktop!

:hi:

5. Hit the print screen (prt scr) key on your keyboard.
Open up Photoshop or whichever graphics editing software you prefer. Create a new document, and hit Ctrl+V. Save as a jpeg and upload it to your host of choice.

10. OK.......that doesn't sound too hard.....
But while I'm doing this, I assume that my actual desktop has to be visible?

I'd think so, but I'd like to know!

Thanks!

23. Change your photobucket acount settings to allow larger picture files.
Once they're over a certain size, photobucket has a tendency to excessively resize them.

What we saw in that screenshot was KDE, the K Desktop Environment. Like mine (below) although mine is configured for a different appearance.

So is OSX, being based on BSD as HypnoToad said, but Apple have wrapped it all up in a stylish package so that you don't need to know about it.

Lame since I live so close.

Going in tommorow for the Pride parade. I'll be meeting up with LionessPriyanka and ThomCat. I doubt we'll end up there there, since it's pride weekend. Priyanka is obviously partying somewhere already. I was exhausted before, so I didn't go in tonight. Of course, now I'm wide awake.

Oh and in terms of places in Hoboken, Trinity is a cool place, and I'm not just saying that because my friend bartends there until 7pm on weekdays.

45. Various ways. I use this:

terry@timestorm: /home/terry/work/p6
09:41:03 $ gaze what root-tail
root-tail:
root-tail is a program that allows printing of text directly to the X11 root
window wherever you choose, much like running rxvt with a pixmap background but
without the hassle and with more features.
You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/terry

You can get it at: http://root-tail.plan9.de/

I then call it with: sudo ./rtail

rtail is just a file with:

root-tail -g 900x900+10+10 -f -noinitial -shade /var/log/everything/current,yellow /var/log/httpd/access_log,green,'WEB' /var/log/critical/current,red,'CRITICAL' /var/log/pwdfail/current,red,'Failed password attempt', /var/log/sshd/current,white

So it's not actually a shell, but rather just log files being continuously tailed?

An actual shell on the root window would be so useful, though.
