6. Egads! I'm jealous!
Sounds delicious! I love lobster and steamers, and many a time have found myself pining for the lobsters and steamers we ate for a week on the coast of Maine at a wonderful little lobster pound...

24. Steamers are soft shelled clams.
Big bellies, long necks, and tender. Nothing at all like the other kinds, and to most New Englanders, the only kind to have steamed.

I eat them whenever I'm there. We don't have anything similar on this coast.

17. Bean curd? No way Jose. I'm having Scampi,
and a little lemon-scented basmati rice. And a huge salad. And a sauvignon blanc.

21. Uh-oh. He might have tasted even better if you hadn't....
My mom used to tell my brothers and me that if we teased the lobsters, or let the dog sniff them, their meat would taste sour.
Once she left a bag with four lobsters out on the patio while she heated a big pot of water . The garbage man came and took them! She called him a little later, realizing that must've been how they so quickly and mysteriously disappeared, to see if he remembered taking a brown bag from the patio. He did remember, and asked her if she wanted him to go to the pig farm and look for them (he only picked up organic garbage in the 50s and early 60s,which he delivered to the local piggery- the rest we took to the dump) She declined the offer, but always wondered if he had them for dinner, :9

Lobsters--vile.

Steamers--almost as vile.

Maybe I need to move to another state.
