1. We had a girl here in Denver who lost her leg
when she got ran over by one of those hummer limos. The damn things are so long the driver couldn't see what was going on in the back.

When I read the title the Hummer Limo was the first mental vision I had.

The Bigfoot truck just screams "GITTER DONE!" at you.

6. I owned it. And you're right.
Caused my damn insurance to go up. Now I have to wait another 3-4 years to get the damn violations that my demonic Echo caused me. Now I drive a 2004 Honda Accord and I absolutely love it. And our next car that is currently up for discussion is for a Honda Fit for me. She is absolutely in love with it and knows that we are extremely enviromentally conscious and care about MPG's to save on petrol, our Accord is one of the tops. And wife says Fit is about as good as Echo when we bought it for that value too.

But Echo? Bleh. Now they're phasing it out - Check out the Yaris.

8. I have a Jeep (hate it) and a Saab (love it) now.
Unfortunately, I can't afford to insure the Saab for 9 months. My parents got me the echo when I went to college and I'm convinced they were trying to kill me, while being really nice about it. The damn thing would sense a snowflake somewhere in western PA and want to skid off the road. Forget driving it on a windy day, especially on the part of Rt. 287 heading towards upstate NY...no way I'd risk taking it on the big bridge sections of road up there with the wind warning signs. Unless the roads were perfectly dry, it didn't want to go up the steep hills around here. Driving it in the snow meant hoping that it would miraculously fall/skid into the intended destination.

The Saab is fucking awesome in all road conditions. It doesn't know that it doesn't have 4WD. The Jeep sucks only because of the gas thing. I can't complain too much though, because it was a free former corporate car.

12. My first car was lime green...looked like this..

People hated it so much they covered it on bumperstickers...
on Halloween night. I gave it away to a kid who later totaled it.

17. The new Fiat Multipla minivan looks just too weird
but I also find almost every new car absolutely hideous. I hate the modern look of plastic fender skirts and rubber bumpers. All almost all new cars look much the same to me, fat, bloated and somewhat egg-shaped.

24. Yes, they've gone a little too far.....
with the "blob" look in car bodies. The opposite extreme is those new Honda boxes-on-wheels....

18. These are the nightmares
Edited on Sat Jun-17-06 12:56 AM by Indy_Dem_Defender
I was driven around is as a kid
Mom had one of these

A Black Ford Torino

but by the early 80's it looked a little more like this, I honest feared riding in this car because we almost always broke down!

We then got a drastically different car

Kids can be cruel at school, but the funny thing is some of the kids that tried to clown on it, lived on welfare and their momma rode the bus everywhere, so they had no room to talk.

EDIT
By the way these aren't the actual cars.

20. That second car is a goddamn 1969 Talladega.
A fgactory NASCAR aero car. 20K just sitting there like that. 100K plus restored.

I realize you were using it for illustration, but I get excited about stuff.

22. I just googled Ford Torino
real quick and that is one of the pictures that showed up didn't really look to closely and posted it, that's an exaggeration on the shape, but I did become fred flinstone once when the floorboard rusted out all the way through on the passenger side and I could see concrete below my feet.

19. The only car that has ever LITERALLY appeared in my nightmares:
1987 Subaru XT, just like this one:

Of all the vehicles I owned, that was my fave.
And then I drove it through a telephone pole...
and there's just no explaining why I wasn't killed.

Relived it in my dreams and woke up shaking every night for awhile there!

That was 15 years ago, and my hands are a little shakey
just from looking at that pic.
Adrenaline rush, even today.
