China irked by topless women's health ad...
'BEIJING (Reuters) - A Chinese TV presenter issued a public apology after posing topless with two other women in hospital advertisements for women's health, the Beijing News said Tuesday.

Chen Dan, a presenter on Changsha TV's "Women's channel" in the southeastern province of Hunan, drew fire from Internet chat-rooms and station bosses after her "Clever Girls Love Themselves More" advertisement appeared at bus stops and on billboards in Hunan's capital, Changsha.'

8. My sweetie is going to China next week, so it's only fair if Ms. Chen...
...comes here, right?
Actually, Chinese ladies run kinda small, and my sweetie probably
makes two of them...
so they better send 'Lisa' too.

Fair is fair, right?

12. Actually, in the younger generation...
the women tend to be much taller. I'm guessing if you measured adult Chinese women under 40, they are not too much shorter than women here in the US. My wife, at 5'4"/5'5" is about the same height as her father and is a good 4-5" taller than her mom... and, it was very noticeable to me when I was in China about 21 months ago that the younger generation is much taller.

Of course, I could be wrong... it was just my observation.

14. I actually have noticed that. Better nutrition, I suppose.
The bride at the wedding my sweetie is going to
is at least 5'6, maybe more.

And I've noticed that here in the States as well;
it's pretty common in my experience that American-born
folks are much taller than their parents.

(But I wasn't actually referring to "height" when I said
my sweetie would make 2 of the ladies in that pic,
if ya catch my drift....)

15. ah, I see
And, my wife at 5'4"/5'5" is the shortest of her group of girlfriends that came here from China in 1999 for graduate school... one woman is like 5'8"/5'9", one is a smidgen taller, and the other is like 5'6"/5'7" and a lot "curvier" than your typical Chinese woman.

6. Whaddya expect from a country that
-denies that AIDS is a problem
-denies there are drug users there
-denies there are prostitutes there
-minimized SARS

Bill Clinton has encountered the first three as part of his battle against AIDS in China. But when he gets resistance from the Chinese government, instead of having a hissy fit like Chimpy would, he just presses on, working to spread his message and get antiviral drugs for Chinese children with AIDS.

The Chinese government is as repressed about drugs and sex as the GOP.

in exchange for being slaves to American corporations for half-pennies on the dollar.

13. They're like America that way
They'd probably have collective heart attacks if Janet Jackson exposed herself there, too.
