ANY monkey can do it. I have a deep, contralto voice. As a youngster, often mistaken for my father, a doctor, on the phone. I always wanted to sing and I'm thinking that lately I've been feeling so awful that she horror of singing in front of people is nothing by comparison. You should go for the gusto! Give it a try. I've been told that even bad voices can learn to sing and sing respectably. That's my hope anyway.
