1. I started when everyone started doing that. Basically it's a french thing
As an ex French colony with multiple indigenous languages, they've kept French on as a lingua franca (and no, that's not ironic). But there's also a subliminal "Uranus factor" here. Sometimes adults pronouce words a certain to avoid saying it the way that used to make them giggle as kids.

I suppose. Maybe the lesson is to be happy with what comes out of your mouth. But probably there is no lesson.
