Poll question: How old would you guess I am?
Edited on Fri Jun-09-06 12:36 PM by StellaBlue
Here I am, last year, and last week:

I ask because people are constantly making wildly inaccurate assumptions about my age. It's kinda funny, kinda infuriating.

24. Two stories
Edited on Fri Jun-09-06 02:18 PM by StellaBlue
I go to an RV show with my dad (last summer). When we get up to the ticket booth, the attendant says to him, "One child and one adult?". The cut-off for kids' tickets was 12. :shrug:

* * *

I go camping in West Texas for Memorial Day Weekend. I am riding in the backseat of an extended cab pickup truck, my two friends in the front seat, ages 27 and 32. We stop at a Best Western to look for a room on the last night, and some random dude walks up to our window to tell us every motel in town is full. Craning over to look in the backseat, he says to my friends, "Is that your daughter?".

* * *

I am 5'0".

But just laugh at 'm & don't take it too seriously. I've notice sometimes it depends on what you're wearing too. In a suit, I'm treated like an adult. In jeans, I'm a college student. Oh, well. I guess it's better to look too young rather than looking too old, huh?

41. In my own opinion, I think I look about my age
maybe a *little* younger... I can see people mistaking me for like 23 or whatever, but asking my friends if I'm their KID? How high are YOU? haha

I have a few light wrinkles around my eyes, sun damage from all those youthful years spent swimming, and I am curvy, too, so... I don't see why people think I am like 14. :shrug:

Mostly they don't once they hear me talking (usually shit about the government, riddled with colorful expletives).

It's all relative.

:rofl:

Seriously, I feel like I am getting to the age where it's not amusing anymore. People say the RUDEST things. Like, WHAT are people thinking when they say things like, "Are you even old enough to vote?" or "Nah! Let me see your ID!" (in a non-alcohol-purchasing situation). Am I going to think it's FUNNY? I don't get it.
