Worst Stand Up Comedian of all time? Your choice and why?
My vote: Gotta go with the Diceman! Ohhh!

Hickory, Dickory, Dock. . .his entire career sucked (censor).

Runner up: Carrot Top. . .telling unfunny joke in an unbelievably annoying way!

3. Well...
When I was a kid I loved "Bobby's World", which was actually a pretty good cartoon he created.

Otherwise, I pretty much agree. Don't like his stand-up at all and think he is annoying as hell on the "Deal or No Deal" gig he's currently doing...

4. Easily Dice, as well as any so-called "cringe" comic.
Basically any comedian who is obscene and offensive for the sole purpose of being obscene and offensive.

Offensive subject matter can sometimes be extremely well done in the correct context, but most of these guys just suck at it.

48. Bingo, though I don't completely agree on Dice.
I would add Pryor to the list of brilliant comedians with foul mouths. Shocking profanity is used to jar an audience out of their normal mindsets, to convince them that anything goes, which makes them more receptive to difficult messages. That's what Bruce, Hicks, Pryor and the like did.

I think Dice tried to do that. I think he was adopting a persona to mock that persona. He wasn't very good at it, but I think he tried. Sam Kinneson, on the other hand, was just a sexist, bitter man trying to make jokes about it. That's why I never liked him. Didn't like Dice much, either, though. :)

95. It's pretty much an impossible job.
With TV shows like All in Family or the Colbert Report you can easily seperate the actor from the character. With stand-up comedy the usual assumption is that the person you're hearing is the genuine article, with exceptions for characters with very outlandish personalities and costumes e.g. Peewee Herman.

Dice sucks with his own materiel. Dennis Leary (according to Joe Rogan) steals other comics' materiel for his act.

He's not a "redneck" or even a "conservative",
and his early work makes that pretty clear.

He had a SOUL once, but he sold it to buy a ticket
on the Redneck Comedy Tour.

Still saddened by what happened to him, though. RIP.

92. Nuts?
I did not read the entire thread, or the linked article, but the first piece of vitriol I saw was this: "Hypocrite. Coward. Self-control is not going for a third plate at the Old Country Buffet, something his audience rarely displays."
And then Rachel's comment did not seem nearly as nasty as the reply to her from Marge who goes off on a torture tangent and grammer mockery. Then Paunch's reply got a little nasty, but also seemed somewhat fact based, but was answered by an ad-hominem attack from Joseph.
So I did not see craziness and vitriol coming just from his fans. (and no I am not one of them, since I have really never heard of the guy to remember him)

Yeah, yeah, you're a stupid idiot who can't talk right...very funny. And all that slapstick stuff, choking on pretzels and falling off bikes and shit? Come on, that crap went out of style a really long time ago, jerk.

If you know what I mean. I feel fortunate, though. I missed Roadtrip.

87. Ray Romano
I have seen bits of his comedy, and his tv show, and I don't care for him in the least bit...but, on the other hand...I do have a thing for his show...but not because of him.

On his show, his supporting cast, parents, wife, brother, steal the show for me...Romano is a whining, do nothing...

93. I watched Richard Belzer do standup once
on TV back in the mid-90s. He's not the worst I've ever seen, and maybe he was having an off night, but sweet Jebus he was terrible. (For what it's worth, I'm a huge fan of his work in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit--when the show can be bothered to point the cameras at someone other than Hargitay and Meloni, that is.)
