5. Who is Jeebus?
I've seen that name on DU several times. Obviously it's a play on Jesus...but it Jeebus a specific character?

14. Jebus is a Simpsons reference . . .
when they shipped Homer off to be a missionary, as they shoved him on the plane he said "I don't even believe in Jebus." Then, as they told him where he was going and how long he'd be there the plane took off and he screamed "HELP ME JEBUS" at the top of his lungs.

15. Jebus
"Jebus" is how Homer Simpson pronounces "Jesus." It comes from an episode of the Simpsons where Homer makes a huge fake donation to PBS, and they come after him (headed by Betty White). At some point Homer yells out "Help me Jebus!"

It was a pretty silly line, but it caught on with lots of people. People love Jebus.

4. Sexual behavior is not the same as sexual preference
Of course someone can change behavior, but preferences cannot be changed. This is just junk science, which I thought conservatives opposed; oh, I guess that only applies to ravaging the environment.

6. WAY old news
The Spitzer report came out two years ago or so.

Spitzer himself has repeatedly said his results were taken way out of context by the funies.

It would appear that the "Agape Press" guys are fond of floating old news (isn't that an oxymoron?) from time to time. Gee, I wonder why.

7. Why can't these people focus their hatred on hunger, poverty, and
homelessness? Instead of being so ramped up about sex all the time.

if they spent all this idiotic anti-gay agenda money on helping people, we'd have almost no homeless, I'd bet. They must spend billions and billions every year on anti-gay advertising, funding bogus research, getting the word out, writing book, preaching, panphlet making, marching against and spitting on gays.

Give it a rest, guys, and do something usefl - and more Christlike - with your energy and your money.

9. I know why it's called "The Agape Press".
Because my mouth was agape while I was reading it.

Somebody with some creativity should create a newsletter called, "The Agaype Press."

Buncha morans.

10. Why?
I just don't get it. Why are some Christians so interested in turning homosexuals into heterosexuals? What's the reasoning? People bring up the point about survival of the fittest and how homosexuality was unnatural because the homosexuals would not be reproducing, and as a species would die out because they were not reproducing. Which is a stupid argument, because there are lots of heterosexual people born unable to reproduce. I'm pretty sure therapy is not a useful tool in turning a sterile man into a fertile man. Or woman.

12. Good God, just what
in the hell IS IT with these people and their obsession/fixation on gays and homosexuality? WHY DO THEY CARE so much about the sex lives of others they don't even know? WHY DO THEY THINK IT'S THEIR BUSINESS AND THEIR RIGHT TO PRY INTO OTHER'S LIVES?

Jesus, someone can be the worst person in the world, but if they don't cheat on their wife/husband and aren't gay, then they're alright, according to the doctrine of these people!

There are SO MANY OTHER ISSUES and problems to deal with and be concerned about, and all these repuke wingnuts care about is whether or not someone is GAY? God, I'm so sick of that! And the major front-page headline in my local paper in Cleveland today is that the legislature voted to ban gay marriages. You can't get these RW wingnut repuke caveman nutball fucksticks to care about any of the numerous, major problems and issues facing Ohio, particularly in the economic area, but even mention gay marriage and THAT'S what they argue over and deal with and vote on!!!!!

I'm a heterosexual, and I simply have NEVER been able to figure out why so many "straights", so to speak, have such hatred of gays and homosexuality! :puke:

17. Just like the guy who's facing 5-to-10 who visits a preacher...
...and asks him to "turn him gay". Preacher says "WHY???" and the convict-to-be says "I figure I'll have an easier time of it if I actually LIKE guys in 'that way'..." Preacher say no way, I can't do that, it's impossible.
The fellow says "How so? You claim you can turn homos into straights, why can't you work it the other way around?"

18. LOL!
Good point, indeed. I always ask anti-gay people, whom I always seem to be encountering because they assume that those who are hetero, like me, share their bias, when they decided to be "straight", when and how did they choose to be hetero? They always get flustered then, because, of course, no one "chooses" their sexual orientation. I don't know, they say, I just was always "like this." Exactly!
