Poll question: How many times have you been married?
Edited on Thu Jun-01-06 09:15 PM by maveric
And I mean "married". Not just living together.

For me its one. Almost three.

6. My dear maveric.....
Just once for me.....

I married young and have stayed married.

Not to say that there weren't days that I felt like saying the hell with all of you, and taking a hike out the door....

But I persevered.....and things are pretty good, these days....

We make a good couple.

8. I like stories like that.
It takes a lot of true love, perseverance, patience, compromise and sacrifice to make a marriage work for that long.
I'm very happy for you and your husband!

BTW, great to hear the good news Peggy.

Edited on Thu Jun-01-06 09:16 PM by HypnoToad
In the others, watch everyone marry in them and then have trouble with the divorce proceedings 5 years later!

At least, the only type of marriage I'd be concerned about, apparently.

18. 1st time lasted 3 1/2 years
2nd time lasted 31 years and still counting.

First one was a disaster. All the wrong reasons and ended up hating each other. Fortunately no kids. CXould have been worse, I guess.

Lets just say that any one dating me should be very wary of my proven track record of bad judgement in relationships. Not that anyone's dating me so far this century....

Well that explains everything.

If I've learned one thing in life, it does no good to beat yourself over the head about every silly little problem. Cruisin' in the wrong pond, yeah, that's the ticket...

Oh crap, another pop culture reference that you're not going to get. :P

and "they" said it would never work..that we were too young at 18 & 20. We've had our ups and downs but we're in it for the long haul. There is no one I'd rather be with than my DH.

edited to add:

Actually DH and I were married twice. We were married by a Judge the first time and married in the church on our first anniversary.
