OMG Macaroni & cheese PIZZA?!!!
Edited on Sun May-28-06 12:09 PM by elehhhhna
The kids had it at Ci-Ci's last night. My 10 y/o loved it.

It's evidently time to leave Texas and move them back to Chicago before all is lost.

8. Not very good at Cici's but they have a competitor that does it well
Can't remember the company name; I eased up on pizza buffets enormously after figuring out I'm lactose-intolerant. (Google reminds me it was Stevi B's)

9. I love mac & cheese!
Especially cheesy mac & cheese! What I do is take TWO cheese pouches and mix it with ONE box of macaroni!

Mmmmm...

That pizza sounds good, too.

11. Why foul up a divine creation like Pizza
by mixing it with nature's most awful food, Mac and Cheese?

Yuck!

30. You obviously have never had
good home-made macaroni and cheese. It surpasses any pizza for divinity, if done well. And I'm a pizza lover extraordinaire!

12. Penne with vodka sauce pizza is the only pizza in the world. MMMM.
I had that and thought that clearly, it was food heaven.

Although, I must say that the idea of melding two great foods like mac and cheese and pizza sounds like something I am in the mood for right now. I love cheese. Sigh.

17. It reminds me of Pinacates
roasted beetle larva, spread over a crisp fried corn tortilla.

Aztecs loved it. It is said to taste somewhat like peanut butter.

I'll never know. :puke:

14. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
that's disgusting.

CiCi's is pretty bad all-around I think though.

We just had Papa Murphy's for the first time last night. It was pretty good.

15. Never tried Papa Murphys, but
is that the place where you buy uncooked pizza and take it home and cook it?

If so, that sounds like the lamest idea I've ever heard! The whole point of take-out pizza is that they have pizza OVENS that we don't have at home! Pizza needs special treatment.

So, how does this work?

19. yeah that's what we thought too
but then someone described some of the pizzas to me and they sounded pretty yummy.

They have all really fresh ingredients and they put it together kind of subway-ish where you can see just what they put on, and then you cook it at like 425 for 18 minutes or so and it comes out pretty good. They have some tray you cook it on.

It's quite reasonably priced, which I assume is because they don't have the electrical bills and oven to pay for.

I tried to link to the website but it appears they're having server issues. It's http://www.papamurphys.com/ in case they get it going again later :D

20. OK, well I might try it then
I've been on a pizza kick lately, and finally have been trying to make my own, and so far I'm not impressed.

If their pizza works reasonably well in my oven, then I'll have to reassess why mine aren't working right (meaning, it's not my oven, lol)

21. Have you ever used an oven thermometer to check it out?
I was having problems with things turning out and I found that it takes longer for my oven to heat out than what the oven claims (up to 10 minutes later than it beeps). My old oven was always 5 to 10 degrees cooler than what I set it to.

22. O.K. - that does it.
The next American to make a rude comment about English food has to eat 10 of these as punishment, and to remind them that far worse culinary crimes are committed on the West side of the Atlantic.

and serve it with chip buddies

(french fry sandwich on buttered toast). I hear it is an English delicaccy...

24. I won't make a rude comment about steak and kidney pie
because then you would make me eat 10 mac and cheese pizzas. I will say, however, that steak and kidney pie is the closest thing to cat food I've ever eaten that wasn't actually cat food.
