2. Like an Irish Wolfhound?
They are beautiful dogs, but they don't have long lives (like 8 years). They must eat a ton. I guess, but probably as a rescue. I would not buy one froma breeder. My German Shepard Dog is 100 lbs and that's the biggest dog I ever had.

6. I gotta figger an actual horse, even a small horse, is gonna be more gassy
Grazers gotta pass gas. However, if you have some sort of recovery system, the energy recovered could offset the cost of the Purina Pony Chow.

11. Well...
Yahoo gives one return where it seems like Pony Chow is actually being referred to in a serious way. But, it's a pay site so I can't get in even using the cache.

12. Yes! Mine practically is.
I have a husky/border collie mix (body and strength of a husky with the energy and smarts of a border collie). He is an absolute mess. He is a rescue dog and I am SO glad I found him, because I'm a big guy and I can barely handle him.... and he's so strong I don't think many people could handle him.. he's the most affectionate dog I've ever had (which shocked me, because I normally find female dogs to be more affectionate, and I normally prefer female dogs - I have a female dog as well).

I'm a dog freak, so let me say this:

1) NEVER GET A PET (especially a dog) IF YOU AREN'T PREPARED FOR THE WORST.

The rewards are huge, but the sacrifices can be great too. For those who are prepared, any sacrifices are easily worth it. But if you are fickle, don't get one to start with. Dogs have feelings.
