Poll question: Do you arrange your paper money to face the same way?
I honestly don't know what there is about this process- it makes no difference in the value of the bill, and it's easily counted no matter which way it faces. Yet time after time I see people compulsively arranging their folding money into neat, perfectly arranged collections, often considerably slowing the grocery store checkout process down.

Veddy interesting.

1. Occupational hazard.
Left over from my days as a bartender.

3. Yeah, from when I was assistant manager at a bakery
and the manager Dave taught me "proper cash-handling procedures."

4. Yes -faced and faced.
All bills face up and facing the same direction. It makes handling money so much easier, especially whe working with a good amount of it (and being expected to work fast!).

When I am initially issued a till at the beginning of my shift at the grocery store, I count all the cash issued and face/face it.

It is easy from then on out to stay organized, as well as making "countdown" at the end of the shift easier - and saving work for the people in the courtesy booth!

8. Hell Yes
and when I put it in my wallet it is in numerical order (1s in front, 5s, 10s, and then 20s...rarely carry larger than 20s).

9. Nope
Then again, I'm a Canuck; I can tell what the bills are by the colour, so they can be mishmashed into my wallet...which they are.

10. I do that.
I arrange the money in my wallet to face the same way. I don't know...it's just more orderly.

11. Naw
I wad it all up in a ball and throw it at who I'm paying like they're some cheap whore.

Actually, I do find myself arranging the bills. I feel like they will have to do it and I don't want them to get pissed so I do it for them.

12. If you've ever worked retail
Handling money is one of the first things you're taught, these days I rarely carry money, it all goes on the debit card.

13. Yes, all bills MUST be facing the same way and
they must be in order by amount in my wallet.

Interestingly enough, I've worked retail as well. Hm.

14. Yes.
Facing forwards, the right way up, in size order too. Normally £5 in the front slot in my wallet, £10 and £20 in the rear.

15. I think it's an occupational thing
Both my Mother and Grandmother have worked in financial institutions all their careers. They are both meticulous about money facing the proper way and being specifically arranged.

I actually get tsked if they see my wallet's not in order!
