Good Saturday Morning, Crew!

:donut::hi:
Welcome to the Saturday edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :bounce: The weekend is here! :woohoo: I hope you had a good week and that you have some fun activities planned for the next two days. I have to work, but that's OK...such is retail.

When I logged into DU just now and looked at the currect threads, I saw that there are nine (yes, 9!) locked threads in the Lounge! :scared: I thought to myself; "OK...what have I walked into here?" That has GOT to be some kind of record for the Lounge. Wow.

I got my new glasses yesterday and had the doc check out my contacts. They sent the right prescription and they were sitting correctly on my eyes, so he ordered me a new pair of trials to see if I can see well out of those again. So, I guess it's glasses for a while until I get those in.

I still don't have a resolution from Roxio, but I'm not giving up. They have this one last chance to get it fixed or I'm going to get a refund. x(

So, are you ready to get the weekend started? Me too! So let's get going! :bounce:

I was wondering about the state of Lounge: Page 1 myself.

How'd you sleep last night?

I checked out each thread, and I guess there's been a lot of Flaming going on. Craziness! I slept just fine, thank you! Laid down to read and was asleep in under five minutes! Did you sleep well?

I turned in at about 11, and was out like a light. I'm up a little earlier than I would've liked, though. I'll have to check out the threads and see what went on. I'm nosy like that. :P

You can make a lot of money as a Real Estate agent, but you still have to work weekends. I think the same goes for Air Traffic Controller.

You're just doomed to work Saturdays for life no matter what. :D

First, I got major insomnia in my second year at university - since then I've never drunk coffee in the evenings, so I'm not used to it.

Secondly, I always drink coffee at rocket fuel strength.

The KitchenWitch family has busy times ahead. My husband interviewed for jobs in southern California this past week. No offers as of yet, but we are expecting that there will be. We will likely be moving before the end of the summer.

105. I accidentally wandered in there once.
I read about three threads before I realized where I was. I was concerned that the lounge was so serious. Good thing I realized where I was before I started posting nonsensical replies...which I've actually done before in GD (on purpose though). You know...just wander in and post about kudzu and leave the thread like a ninja.

42. Do you always get up this early on a Saturday?
Reminds me of a Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin looks at the clock and says 'omigod I overslept, I gotta get going' Hobbes yawns and says 'but today is Saturday' and as he is racing around Calvin says 'Of course, do you think I would care if it was a school day?"

I always have to work these two days, so I hate weekends. This seems to be hell week at work too since we are booked more than solid this weekend including not one, but two, farking all night graduation parties (hosted by the school or the PTA or student council or something, not like the kegger we had (which I did not attend. I am not even sure I knew where it was.))

69. I guess we are even then
since I stay up this late almost every day too, although I do not have to. I just feel it is a good idea to maintain consistent hours to make the nights when you have to work midnight to eight for a farking overnighter, not quite so brutal.
Thus, I should be part of the morning crew, except that normally when I see this thread it means I have stayed up later than intended and usually I prepare for bed instead of replying.

It's just that the iBook was off getting a bigger and better hard drive. My other iBook has a fucked-up display (kicking one off the bed while sleeping is bad for it). It allowed me onto DU for approximately ten minutes. During that time I made a random post that it (iBook, not DU) smelled like old people and it was freaking me out. Apparently, it did not look to be told that it smelled like old people because it went back to it's normal scrambled display.

194. The hard drive was a choice to upgrade and I think kicking
a laptop off the bed and making it's display all wobbly would mess any kind up. It did work fine for about six months before it decided to scramble up. The computer itself is still sound. I'll use it sometimes to back stuff up.

180. I tried contacts when I was very young.

Silly me I wanted to change the color of my eyes. I felt like I aways had a grain of sand in my eyes. I'll stick with awesome glass frames. Besides the comfort level they keep the wind and sun out of my eyes.
I've wondered about Lasik surgery. Are you awake while they do it?

131. Sleeping at night is highly overrated.
I slept 7am-7pm yesterday. Well I was up for a couple hours around noon, but I still had a headache and was possibly drunk, so I went back to sleep. The drama from Thursday night made the locked lounge threads seem calm.

:donut: :hi:

I can't stay long today ... harleydad is sick and I have to do the stuff he was going to do today. Aaaaarrrggghh! Yesterday wasn't so good. Harleydad started getting sick and we couldn't find a doctor who would see him. I'm really concerned about him.

The cats knocked over something in the closet and it hit the mirrored doors. There goes $100 to get a new set. Then we called the cable company to get our new cable hooked up and the lady who answered the phone, B, wouldn't let us talk to the one who has been helping us all along, A, ... so B ends up getting the commission and she's charging more for the hook-up than A was going to charge. x( I'm trying to get that all fixed and left a message for A's supervisor to call me.

I hope you can get it all straightened out with your contacts and Roxio.

Good choice for song of the day!

Wow! What a MESS! I'm sorry you've got so much bad stuff happening all of a sudden, my dear! I hope Mister Harley gets better quickly. Bandit keeps using the floor instead of the litter box and I don't know what's going on with him. x( We cleaned out that box yesterday (washed, washed and washed it) new litter, and he STILL shat on the floor in front of it during the night. If he keeps it up, we're going to have to get rid of him or something. I can't stand that any longer. x(

169. Oh, my!
Have you tried the Cat Attract litter? (I think that's what it's called ... by Dr. Elsey's, at Petsmart. They make a great regular litter, too.) Could he have a tummy ache? Sabrina was doing that and it ended up that she had a tummy ache from the food she was on. Sometimes if they have a bad time in the litter box b/c they don't feel good, it makes them not want to use it anymore. We changed her food, of course, but we also had to switch the litter we'd been using for 8 years. Now she's fine. I sure hope you get it figured out.

Harleydad almost never gets sick ... but when he does, he gets it bad. :scared:

I'll have to go check it out. I took him to the vet last week and they didn't find any problems with him, so I don't think its a physical problem. I don't know WHY he's decided to stop using the box, but I hate it!

I rarely get sick either...but, like him, when I do...I'm SICK. x( Tell him I said I hope he gets better soon!:loveya:

185. Well, cats don't just decide to do that for no reason.
Something about the box traumatized him. I'd bet it was a tummy ache, even if he doesn't have one now. I hope the Cat Attract litter works. I've heard great things about it. We never tried it b/c we got the desired results with the regular Dr. Elsey's. Good luck ... and let me know how it turns out.

Doesn't that software thing drive your nuts? I had the same trouble when I tried to upgrade my Norton program (on my old Gateway with WindowsME). Norton's old software, which came with the PC, refused to uninstall, so the new wouldn't install. We went around and around. (they didn't seem to be a particularly helpful bunch). I ended up getting most of my money back.
