Any DUers in the Merrimack River Valley? Any flooding where you are?
Just watching CNN and they showed flooding in Peabody, Amesbury and Manchester NH. I grew up there and never experienced flooding of that proportion.
How is it in the Lawrence, Methuen and Salem NH areas? I have friends and family back there.

2. I know people who live by the Shawsheen, Merrimack and Spicket rivers.

The Shawsheen seems to flood before the other two do. My parents house was right on the banks of the Spicket and during moderate flood seasons their basement would fill up with water. I sold that house last year and fear that the new owners are pumping out as we speak.
Thank god I moved to earthquake prone CA 26 years ago.
Are you flooded matcom?

treatment center pipe broke or something. I haven't heard anything about Lawrence/Methuen/Salem.

Cresting in Lawrence between 2am-4am, National Guard going in to help. I'm watching NECN (Mayor of Lawrence is on).

Partial shutdown of sewage treatment facility - 14 critical hours to get through, a few schools flooded.

6. Thats NASTY!
Lets hope it doesnt flood. They made all those great improvements to downtown Haverhill. I'd hate to see that get hit.
I know that that the Spicket will flood. It would every year I can remember. Parts of Salem NH and Methuen would go underwater. The Spicket's origins are at the dam at Arlington Pond/Salem. That pond/lake always fills up and to keep the water from going over the dam, they open it up to the Spicket, which is shallow and prone to overflows.

7. Salem NH was on the news right after the Lawrence Mayor
but I had to leave to drive my daughter to work. There were evacuations in Salem this morning.

115 mil gallons/day of sewage from Lawrence treatment plant into Merrimack
Missed what they said about the amount flowing from Haverhill.
Concerned about stability of some bridges.

It's bad - almost as bad as 1936.

Wishing the best for your family and friends.

5. Peabody is a mess ...
Lynn had some flooded roads, but they subsided pretty quick. My mom's house always gets flooded, and they got the sump pumps running.
