Well, she brought her baby home yesterday (FJ Cruiser)

Yep. Looks just like this.

My girlfriend's taking on payments, but thankfully it's not a terrible price for a new car ($25K), perfect for livin' on bad dirt roads (as we do) and, unlike her old car, can top 25 mph without threatening to self-destruct. :D
It's pretty cool. Suicide doors, you can hose the sucker out when dirty. We've got the only manual transmission one in Western CO.
We'll be dingin' the snot out of this guy crawling over mountain passes (Imogene, Black Bear, and Engineer are out our doorstep) this summer.
Ask me anything!

1. That color is, um, not my favorite let's say.
But it's a nice looking VEE-hicle. Hope she enjoys it.

2. We call it "Blue Tarp Blue"
The other car in the driveway is her 1977 FJ40, so it's a hell of a driveway.

3. The old FJ's are damn-near indestructible.
Hope the new one is, too.

It's not so much a driveway, but a rock-crawling trail? Gotcha. ;)

4. We're gonna find out
This afternoon, most likely. She's been after this thing since she saw it in some magazine like a year ago.

Feels like a rock, so far. The dealer she's been bugging for 10 months called yesterday morning when the truck rolled in. The operative word for her was "apeshit." :D

5. Update: this is a rock-crawlin' machine
We took 'er up into Yankee Boy basin today, discovered delights such as locking differential and a traction control you can turn off -- plus creeping up in gear with the starter. NOT just a pretty face!
