8. Ya think?

According to Wikipedia:
"Various dates have been suggested for the statue, ranging from about 160 BC to about 20 BC. Inscriptions found at Lindos in Rhodes date Agesander and Athenedoros to a period after 42 BC, making the years 42 BC to 20 BC the most likely date for the Laocoön statue's creation."

12. They got strangled by the Greek Gods
because Laokoon warned the Trojan people of Odysseus and his false horse plan.

11. I love the Laokoon sculpture
I saw it in RL in Rome some years ago. It is actual also my wallpaper here at work. At home I have a less artistic picture.

Normally I am against copies of sculptures but this one I would even buy in a smaller size.

18. This poem I found best explains the way I feel about that word ~

What shall I make of my broken heart?
From its ripping my soul sings
notes indigo like Billie Holiday's blues,
the moans of heartache mornings.

In two pieces it beats faintly.
In half it bleeds my cries.
All jagged down the center,
but death my heart defies.

What shall God make of my broken heart?
So useless now it seems.
Love whispers into darkness.
I think I shall make wings.

34. Yes, totally impressive!
There's an artist in the area that works in soapstone and alabaster, and some bronze. I've met her a couple of times, she's fantastic. I'm amazed at the work she produces. Even though she's in her 70s she still can wield that hammer!
