If light don't travel a straight line how do you measure it's speed?
I have too much time on my hands. Just thinking out loud.

...it's speed no? Throw a baseball, watch gravity pull it back to the ground. You can measure it's speed no?

8. Speed of light
was measured across a very short distance in a tunnel or pipe in Erie Pa. if I remember correctly.

There was no gravitational force to 'bend' it over that short a distance.

Now go ask this question in the Science Forum-get a correct answer.
