Help! 1099 question!
Ok, let's see if I can explain this and make cents. I used to have a job (paper route, it SUCKED!) and they didn't take out ANY taxes. I got this 1099 thing, and it doesn't tell me what in the hell to do. All it says is how much money I earned. So, I check the irs's webpage. What a WASTE of time that was. So does anyone have ANY clue?! HELP!

Lu

PS I hope the door DOES hit Tom DeLay on the ass on his way out...but he's probably enjoy that since he's a FREAK!

2. 1099s are issued by the people you worked for
they are to be attached to your tax return... so the gov can be sure you are reporting all your income. That is the only function of a 1099.

3. you use it just like a w-2
but since you didn't have any taxes withheld, you simply report the gross income on the line (18, if I recall) where it says "Gross Income"

7. It could be worse than that...
Depending on how much you earned, you could be subject to Self Employment Tax.
