Wordperfect 12 sucks donkey testicles

I hate everything about it. All the stupid "autoformatting" crap it does without you even wanting it to (and you can't turn it off either).

I just spent an hour working on a post for DU. I had to keep haggling with WP because it kept doing weird crap like underlining stuff when I never hit the "underline" key, moving things without my prompting it too and so on.

Then, when I finally had the post ready, what does it do? It freaking freezes up on me!!! :grr:

So I had to pull the plug and battery on my laptop and reboot the computer. Then when I go to look for the file, guess what??? It's effing GONE!!! Sure, the title is there, but the GD thing is BLANK, even though I saved it like a brazilian times while I was working.

GAH!!!! :grr: :mad:

All that work down the drain. :cry:

Fortunately I have all of my reference websites bookmarked, so it will be simple enough to look up that material again, but it's just so frustrating starting from scratch after all of that work. :mad:

3. Wordperfect 5.1 for MS-DOS was the apex of word processing.

At some point, the word "improvement" became a marketing term, and as with all marketing terms, the meaning has little relation to the commonly accepted meaning within the English language. Proprietary software fell victim to this language of marketing just before Bill Gates made his first million.

I use AbiWord or OpenOffice Writer now, but I truly miss WP 5.1. I used that until I couldn't use it anymore, that is until I no longer had access to the install disks.

8. I had Word for Windows 6 on my old computer

I was much more happy with that.
