I bike all year round down here, except for about a week or two when there is snow and ice on the streets.
I had an economics prof in Lincoln, Ne who used to bike ten miles to work every day in all kinds of conditions. A braver soul than me, but also I think Lincoln is flatter than here. I can bike in snow, but I am not going to do it going downhill. Mostly in the winter I am only biking ten blocks to work or six blocks to the store or post office.

10. Some of us bike through the Winter in Minneapolis.

It wasn't too bad this year. Jan & Feb were pretty dry, and seldom went below 0.
I use studs for safety, though many here do not. They just avoid anywhere there may be icy patches.
I like to explore, and never know when I'll hit glaze ice.



The studs work great, but are hard to pedal on dry pavement.
