Ever bought an album strictly based on a printed review?
Ever been completely happy with the album as a result?

It's happened to me three times: "Frontier Days" by the Del-Lords, "The Rose Of England" by Nick Lowe, and "Where Are All The Nice Girls?" by Any Trouble.

How 'bout you?

1. I've bought several based on what these two guys think

One is a highly pretentious Russian guy and the other is incomprehensibly hilarious, but once you know what they're good at noticing quality in, they're both pretty good album guides.

2. I bought one based on the description in my club catalogue
Belle and Sebastian's Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A Peasant. The first time I listened to it I was thinking, "This stuff is too weird, even for me", but after a few more tries it grew on me and it's one of my favorites now.
