2. I had one of his pins in high school
when he ran for attorney general.

My mom threw it away. I used to think it was because of his last name but now I wonder if it is because he's a Dem.

3. I always email this stuff to a friend of mine from MO
It truly embarrasses her. I'm originally from NJ, so I have less to be freaked out about politically...

4. It should embarrass everyone from MO.
Unfortunately, I've heard quite a bit of praise for this crap in my town.

5. Oh yeah???
In North Dakota, it is illegal for a man and a woman who are not married to live together.

Checkmate.

6. In MO they plan to take all alimony away from that situation.
Besides, I know I have the checkmate.

They want to declare Christianity as the official state religion and bring the Bible into schools. They want to readmit prayer into schools and intelligent design instead of evolution.

Checkmate.

My friends are all raising liberal children. Besides, do you really want to nuke the land of Twain and Truman?

16. Not enough-
I live in the asshat section. My county went 69% red last election, even w/ a number of us out there doing our part.

Actually, the top three strike zones for a nuke attack in the US are DC, Omaha, and a place about 8 miles from me-Whiteman AFB. If nukes really did go up I'd be dead in minutes.

And yes, the tv movie The Day After did scare the crap out of me. They talked about all the towns around me being gone.

15. that's sensationalist crap
It won't pass.

Believe it or not, there are Missourians that don't think like that. There are some that pay lip service to some creepy reactionary ideas as well, but rest assured they're in the minority.

Thanks for painting the whole state in a bad light.

17. I live here.
I know what it's like.

You are lucky to live in St Louis. I live in a very red county. Johnson County went over 2/3 republican in the last election. The people whom I work with are talking about this like it's the most wonderful thing in the world.
