..as far as i'm concerned.

in fact, if you ever get a chance to see the documentary on mingus (Triumph of the Underdog), it's worth seeing.

I heard a wonderful composition of his on our local jazz radio station last night ( usually they are heavily into fusion, alas) and was again stunned by his brilliance.

Funny, I almost posted a Monk-Mingus showdown poll and thought, nah, why pit the geniuses against each other? ;)
