1. It might be a sign of a urinary tract infection
I know that sometimes cats will urinate in areas they know they are not supposed to when they have an infection--maybe the same is true for rabbits.

2. DarthKitten, what is it with pet hygiene?
Edited on Sun Jul-27-03 08:10 PM by The Lone Liberal

How does one house break a rabbit? Rabbits are wild things, (as the music comes up sing-along with Born Free) they belong in the great out-of-doors doing rabbit things. And, from what I have read those things are not bad.

Of course maybe the rabbit has been doing rabbit things and that would explain the need to, ah, ah, well you know.

3. Has he been neutered? Male bunnies mark their territory
that way. Look at this web site--loads of good stuff about bunnies.

outside his cage. :( maybe he is marking his territory.

and then ate it. Nice little zero-sum problem, if it wasn't just a mistake.

8. He probably marking his territory.....
I would suggest you have him neutered.
Mine did that for a while and it got to smelling pretty horrible.
He's fine now and seems to have lost all desire to do it.

Also, go to one (of many) of the fine Rabbit sites on the web...They can be quite enlightening.

Best of luck with your Bun.

11. his biggest problem is that you are going to kick his ass
for peeing on the carpet.

I usually have the butcher skin and dress them before I bring them home.

Rabbits being territorial pee'ers, s/he will go back again and agin to that spot. :bounce:

Is it paper or kitty litter trained?
