6. I loved Night Stalker...
...it was such a novel program.

I was a young child when I watched it, but it mesmerized me. It was so scary.

McGavin was wonderful as "Kolchack" the unstoppable 'monster detective.'

RIP buddy...you made me smile, you entertained me and best of all--you slayed the werewolves and vampires.

18. He was the motivation for the X-Files...
Edited on Sun Feb-26-06 12:16 AM by calipendence
Read a lot of Chris Carters' commentaries on the X-Files, and he cites on a number of occasions the Darren McGavin and the Night Stalker as being his inspiration. The X-Files I think still motivate us all to continue to help get the "truth that is out there" to all of us, that is the stark reality facing us today. May he R.I.P. Thanks for being there and giving us hope Darren!

31. I always watched it too
When I was a kid I never missed that show. I just loved it. Strange that both he and Don Knotts died today. Wonder who will be the third?

5. "This nut thinks he's a vampire!"
"This is NEWS! We are a NEWSpaper! We Print NEWS!"

When you remember lines (approximately) from a ealy 70's pilot, it's a great character.

Kolchak should have covered Dick Cheney.

Is Bob Hope still dead?

Loved him as Mike Hammer!! It's the strangest thing, I was thinking about him early today before I'd heard about his death. Weird, but this happens very often with me.

He'll be old man Parker forever, if we don't go up in a ball of nuclear fire, they'll be showing Christmas Story in perpetuity.
