Are we brainwashed?
Are you brainwashed? What about some of your neighbors, are they brainwashed? Before you answer that, let us ask you a few preliminary questions: Do you believe that the United States was struck by a terrorist attack on Sept. 11? Do think that the people behind that attack were "Arabs" and that its "mastermind" was this fellow Osama bin Laden, operating from a cave in Afghanistan? Do you believe that the way to stop terrorism is to hit them hard, to hit them at their "bases" in such places as Afghanistan, and to hit the nations who might sponsor them, like, say Iraq?

And what about the economy? Do you think that the recent fall of the stock market, and the weakness in the economy, have been caused by the Sept. 11 attacks? Well, if you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you probably are brainwashed! If you answered "yes" to more than one, you are definitely a "goner."

"But," you, reply, "isn't that what most people think? Wouldn't they answer those questions the same way I do? Well, the answer to that is, yes. But, we would remind you: Just because the majority of people might BELIEVE something to be true, doesn't make it true. All it means, is that you and most of your neighbors are suffering from a mass delusion--or, put more bluntly: YOU ARE BRAINWASHED. So, the question is, really, how did you get this way? How did you come to believe things like those statements in the first questions were true? "Well, I heard it on.... Well, I saw it on.... Well, I read it in...."

1. Not brainwashed - lied to
Don't get me started. I think it's strange there were no people with arabic names on the flight lists. I think it's strange that PNAC basically said in their crappy papers that their bullshit probably wouldn't work until there was something on the level of Pearl Harbor. Don't get me started, I tell ya. I have been fuming for the past 3 years. It's getting mights tiresome.

6. Robert Heinlien in 'If This Goes On...'
"Whenever someone in a position of authority says 'this you cannot see, this you may not read, this you are forbidden to know', the end result is tyranny, no matter how holy the motives. It takes remarkably little to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked. Contrawise, no amount of force can control a man whose mind is free. Not with the rack, not with fission bombs. The best you can hope to do is kill him."

To many people have had thier minds hoodwinked; never told the truth about anything, they have no choice but to believe the lies they are told.

10. That's funny, coming from someone as fascist as Heinlein.
Sorry, no respect for that guy left after reading _Grumbles from the Grave_, _Podkayne of Mars_ and _Starship Troopers_, and do let us not even mention the abominable _Time Enough For Love_.

11. Fascist?
Libertarian, maybe.

Starship Troopers described a militaristic socialist democracy.

Time Enough For Love described a hedonistic frontier society; with a multi partner marraige that was run as a communistic style 'from each, to each'.

It's been too long since I read Podkayne of Mars, so no comment.

Grumbles from the Grave were ramblings put together out of context by his estate to keep the money flowing, nothing more or less.

7. I answered NO to them mostly.
Except for the first one. I do believe Sept. 11 was a terrorist attack. Sorry.

8. Well, it obviously was a terrorist attack
But that it was masterminded by OBL because "Americans buy houses" is not so certain.

There is the remote possibility that is was a terrorist attack, but sponsored by bushco/ the MIC to cow the public into supporting their agenda of insanity.

No matter who did it, or why, it was by definition a terrorist attack, designed to terrify Americans.

(I am one of the few who believes that this was intended to be a smaller-scale attack and that the hijackers didn't know the buildings would fall completely. No way to prove it, just a feeling. If they did know, that would indicate that enormous amount of study into the structure was done involving physics, etc. Just seems sunlikely to me.)
