Man I ate a Ruben that was this big tonight....

Sloppy, crispy grilled with a big old pickle, some good horse radish and some yellow mustard on top...

None of the Thousand Islands crap....

And a side of home made chunky potato salad with just the perfect blend of bitter and sweet to tantalize your tongue...

And, some Cream Soda from a bottle...

Don't do it that often any more, but when I do Deli... I DO DELI!!!!!

However... you haven't had a really good Rueben sandwich until you have a Winnipeg one. Take 2 slices of Winnipeg Rye, slather both pieces with tartar sauce, add sauerkraut, Montreal Smoked Meat, Swiss cheese (real Swiss cheese), grill. Add a vinegar and oil coleslaw and kosher pickles as a side. Serve. Ambrosia.
