I think it's a very cool donating gimmick that the brains of DU have arraigned every time you donate to DU before the Valentine's deadline is over.

But we should not forget the real meaning behind the giving.

While it makes me smile every time I see the hearts that someone has given me and it's entertaining to look at all the hearts that have been given to other members (not to mention the chatter among the heart whores around here :P :)), it's very important not to forget why we are donating in the first place.

Above all, every donation helps to keep this place going. In my opinion, this is the best progressive political website on the net. We should all be grateful we have a place like this to come to and discuss politics, news, social issues, our love life, what we had for breakfast, :) etc, etc, etc.....

It is crazy... I think a lot of it boils down to paying attention to what your kid is doing online. And teaching them that they can't trust everyone they meet- I've learned that the hard way (thankfully it wasn't too bad an experience) and it goes for adults, too- just can't trust everyone that seems nice.

Yeah, parents need to do more monitoring, I agree.

We even have to be careful on places like this. Not because we might be talking to a sexual predator but because they may be freepers. If we tell them something to personal, it could be trouble. I mean too personal, real first and last name, where we live, etc. They can track us down and do some crazy shit.

Long story short we were dating online, and he came out and stayed for the summer and was a dick, grabbed me by the wrist, I punched him in the face, and he left for the military. He was emotionally abusive. And I worked through my emotional issues afterwards and all is well with me now. :)

And I agree with you, about even on here- I took my city off my profile because I post pictures. My city is small :).

I accidentally killed a skunk, once. It came outa nowhere and I couldn't stop in time. Like you, I felt terrible about it and cried, and to add insult to injury, was left with the skunk smell on my tires for days afterwards. Luckily, it was the rainy season.... :eyes:

We have to forgive ourselves, and move on....

19. It was so scary...(maybe graphic)

the deer flew up into the air and I saw it bounce off the ground :cry:
It came out from the right side (passenger) so it landed right near my driver's side window. I freaked and didn't know what to do but drove off. I called the city police department when I got home to let them know.
I'm sure they had to come and shoot it. I heard deer don't die right away if they get hit in the body and the deer I hit got hit in the body.
My friend's mom hit a deer and it kep trying to get up and run away. :cry:
The cops had to come and shoot it.

Anyway, my new car is awesome. But then of course the night I got it, it snowed 15 inches here in CT so now it's all dirty! :mad:
